Pencoyd Viaduct
The Pencoyd Viaduct (Manayunk Bridge) was constructed in 1918, and was used by SEPTA (SouthEastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) till the 1986. It was recently reopened for pedestrians and is now part of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Circuit Trails, which has a goal of having a circuit of over 700 miles for pedestrians and bicyclists.
The first image describes the preliminary of the superstructure if the Pencoyd Viaduct. This has been designed using SolidWorks.
The second image shows the engineering drawing specific to the details of the girder and the superstructure of the bridge.
This project involves itself with the structural integrity and maintenance requirements of the bridge. Dr. Bartoli is a key figure in analyzing the Pencoyd Viaduct, and has in the past deemed the bridge structurally stable.

I am initiating the process of creating a computer aided design model of the bridge using SolidWorks and engineering drawings dating back to the early 1900's.
The image on the left describes Pier 3 of The Pencoyd Viaduct, which is the first pier to stabilize the bridge in the water. The image shows the left pier.

The image on the right describes the I-Beam that is used as a component in the superstructure.
